Australia December, 2014 – 30th March 2015
As always it was wonderful being home,
words fail me when I try to describe how much I miss our grandchildren and of
course the children, family and friends.
I know we are living the dream but the grass is always greener …….

Two very memorable occasions that always
put a smile on my face ..
Miss Amber-Lee, all of 5 years old can
read, extremely well for a child her age, she can read a small sign on the side
of the highway when travelling at 80klms.
Unfortunately the sign said “Alsatian puppies for sale, 6 weeks old” and
there began the pleading – “I want a puppy, nanny will you buy me a puppy, I
will feed and walk the puppy” – most of you are already smiling having known
similar times …. I tried to distract her each time we had to travel past the
sign but she usually knew when to peer out the window in the hope that the
puppies were now free. At one time I
asked her did she want a boy or girl puppy – boy was the definite answer so the
conversation naturally went to names – this she had already worked out –
“fluffy” it is definite !!! A most appropriate name for a boy Alsatian !

Little Miss 2 year old was helping me ice
some cupcakes, noticing her big sister had a second lick of the spoon and there
was very little mixture left, Alannah said Nanny Lee, you know “you get what
you get and you don’t get upset” this was said with a very sad face. Don and I now use that saying often with a
smile on our face – maybe something that had come home from day care.
