We arrived at Bahia Del Sol in El Salvador this morning.
We had a smooth crossing acroos the Gulf of Tehauntepec - calm seas so mostly motoring with some motor-sailing.
We even managed to catch a fish - a small tuna, but saw many large marlin jumping out of the water.
Crossing the bar into the river estuary here looked a bit daunting, though I'm sure the conditions were as good as you could ever get here. There was very little swell but still manages to build up some impressive breakers over the shallows.
The pilot from the hotel came out on his jet-ski and we followed him in - almost an anticlimax after the build up of nerves.
The clearing in process was very quick and easy - probably the easiest we have had anywhere.
After securing at the marina and clearing in we made straight for the hotel swimming pool (where I am writing this) - it is about a 50metre walk from the boat. We are soaking up the luxury.
More details about our road trip with Richard to Oaxaca and the Tehauntepec crossing soon - going back to the pool now !
